Pow Wow and Princess Pageant celebrate five years at Whoop-Up Days

The Pow Wow and Princess Pageant are celebrating their fifth anniversary as part of Whoop-Up Days, marking five years of showcasing Blackfoot culture at southern Alberta’s largest summer fair. The milestone reflects a partnership between the Blackfoot Confederacy and Excite Lethbridge that has helped bring Indigenous traditions, competition and cultural celebration to the forefront of the annual event. This year’s celebration will feature increased prize money, a new music showcase highlighting Blackfoot artists, and three days of activities welcoming both Indigenous and non-Indigenous visitors.

The party celebrating for the fifth year of Pow Wow and Princess Pageant will take place on Wednesday, Aug 19 at 6 p.m.
