One inspection keeps food trucks serving across three communities

One inspection. Three communities. That’s the goal behind a regional partnership that’s making life easier for southern Alberta food truck operators. After launching last year, the shared inspection program between Lethbridge, Coaldale and Taber has already completed about 40 inspections this season and is once again helping vendors reduce red tape while maintaining consistent fire safety standards.

In its first year, approximately 60 food trucks participated. In the City of Lethbridge, all food trucks are required to complete an annual inspection by a Fire Prevention Officer. Once approved, operators receive a window decal and certificate authorizing operation for the year. There is currently no fee for the initial inspection and approval.
