Lethbridge Police were on scene once again outside of Immanuel Christian Elementary School along 5 Avenue North investigating a suspicious package.
Members of the Explosive Disposal Unit were deployed, a police drone was monitoring the area, which was taped off, and students were being kept safely inside the school.
This is the second time in a week LPS has investigated a suspicious package at Immanuel, after the first one was deemed non-suspicious. Authorities determined this afternoon the package was not a threat but did take one person into custody.
An investigation is ongoing, and it is not revealed if the two incidents are directly related.
