New Streets Alive base supports those in need

A home base operation is the newest way Streets Alive Mission brings its encampment and outreach teams. At the place where the new building of its mission site is taking place, neither rain, cold, nor heat waves stop the helping hand that provides refreshing drinks, sandwiches, and basic items to those living on the streets. The group’s Chief Operations Officer, Cameron Kissick, says two or three people work Monday through Friday to serve hundreds of people daily.

The rock group the Doobie Brothers had a famous hit song called “Takin’ it to the Streets”. Well, the Streets Alive Mission in Lethbridge is using that as the title for its program, providing nourishment to the mind, body and soul for individuals on the street, going to the areas of our city where they are most needed.
