New outdoor space for Lethbridge Public Library

The Lethbridge Public Library recently announced the development of a designated outdoor space at the Main Branch of the facility.

Staff with the library told us this will be a multi-purpose facility for all ages.

It will include recreation elements that connect people to nature and inspire physical literacy, along with incorporating traditional Indigenous knowledge.

Elements to be included in the space:
• Seating
• Programming equipment that inspires creativity, imagination, sensory, active and quiet play through music, art,
building, adventure, nature and science-based activities
• Garden containers with plants native to the area
• Tables for activities
• Locally created art
• Informational panels

Construction for the new space has already begun with the facility expected to be open in the spring of 2024.
