Maxime Bernier discusses PPC gun policies at SACPA

In 2018, Maxime Bernier created the People’s Party of Canada after losing to Andrew Scheer in the leadership race for the Conservative Party of Canada. Bernier spoke today at SACPA, saying that he knows the PPC doesn’t have much of a chance in the next federal election, but raising their voter percentage is top of mind. Bernier also added that the PPC wants to remove the Firearms Act, and enact new legislation if they are voted in.

If elected, the PPC would look to mandate that future changes to gun legislation only be made through Parliament.
