This Monday is the starts of Myeloma Awareness month. Every day, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a little-known and, so far, incurable blood cancer. Sadly, this number is increasing, myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer. In honour of Myeloma Awareness month, which began today, the city held a flag-raising ceremony outside City Hall. Brian Treadwell is the Lethbridge Myeloma Support Group Leader and also battled Mulitple Myeloma.
