Manager of Lethbridge McDonald’s wins prestigious award

Angela Sunquist, the manager of the Fairway Plaza McDonald’s in Lethbridge, is one of the lucky recipients of the 2023 Outstanding Manager of the Year Award.

The honour is given out to only the top five per cent of managers working across the more than 1,400 McDonald’s restaurants in Canada.

Sunquist says she was over the moon when she got the call.

“When I first found out about it, my operation consultant was here. My owner operator was here. I was not expecting it at all. I got a phone call and for me, I did not even know that I was nominated for it at all. So it was a big surprise and a big achievement for me and for my team. Like I always say, when I win something, I always win it with my team. So I called every single one of them, give them the good news, and it’s really exciting.”

Sunquist began her career at McDonald’s 20 years ago and has been a manager in Lethbridge since 2019.
