Members of the Lethbridge Sport Council unveiled 15 new winners of the organization’s recent Achievement Awards. Staff from the group said the awards celebrate the excellence of male and female athletes on and off the field during 2022.
Tanya Whipple, the communication manager for the organization, talked about the special honour the 15 winners will receive at the Enmax Centre on April 6.
“This is the 13th annual Achievement awards. And so this is one of the highlights of our year, every year is being able to do this. And it’s an awesome opportunity for not only us, but also the sport organizations and the rest of the sport community to recognize the awesome things that are happening within that sport community. They had the opportunity at the reception to give a thank you speech, which is a little nerve wracking for some of them, especially some of the younger athletes getting up on that stage and everything, but it’s a great opportunity for them to get to acknowledge the community that supports them as well.”

- Coaching Excellence High Performance – Peter Schori
- Coaching Excellence Community Coach – Rob Wood
- Officiating Excellence – Lindsey Ducharme
- Volunteer in Sport – Peter Kremenik
- Business and Sport Excellence – Stranville Living Master Builder
- Dr. Gary Bowie Sport Event Excellence – ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival
- Sport Administrator – David Zeeb
- Knud Petersen Spirit in Sport – Chad Chief Moon
- Servus Credit Union Outstanding Sport Citizen – Kieran Mattice
