It’s not quite Santa’s sleigh, but it’s pretty darn close. Lethbridge Transit is lighting up the season with a bus that is decked to the halls. Teaming up with community partners, The Holiday Bus will be parked outside a number of holiday events throughout the season, inviting community members to drop off donations in support of the Christmas Hope Campaign. Transit Operations Manager Joseph Bompiani says his department wanted to add some drive to Christmas initiatives, and felt that a decorated bus that accepts donations for those who need it most, was the best way to spread Christmas cheer.
The Christmas Hope Campaign is a collaboration comprised of six local agencies. They are The Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank, Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots, MyCityCare’s Shop of Wonders, Volunteer Lethbridge, and Lethbridge Family Services’ Angel Tree. Executive Director for the Interfaith Food Bank Danielle McIntyre says, the Holiday Bus is a welcomed addition to the Christmas Hope campaign, especially with increasing needs on her organization.
To catch the Lethbridge Transit Holiday Bus, you can view its schedule on the City of Lethbridge website.
