Lethbridge Terry Fox Run to take place at Legacy Ridge park
This year’s Terry Fox Run will be taking place at a new location. An official with the event says they made the decision to move locations from the Civic Centre Track to Legacy Ridge Park because of logistical reasons. Lorien Johansen says they were running into issues like wheelchair accessibility and the gravel at the track.
“The gravel at the track is somewhat difficult to navigate if you are using wheels of any kind, and the Terry Fox Run is designed to be absolutely inclusive. If you are in a wheelchair, or you use a walker or a cane, we would invite you to participate and the Legacy picnic shelter is much more equipped for the things that we need logistically for the run. We have covered seating, we have a kitchen, we have power, we have sound. Logistically it is much more suitable for the Terry Fox Run event in September,” said Lorien Johansen, Co-Chair for the Lethbridge Terry Fox Run.
The run will be taking place on September 18. Details on how to register can be found here.
