Lethbridge Sage Clan makes urgent appeal for warm clothing following the closure of emergency shelter

The Sage Clan in Lethbridge made an appeal for blankets and warm winter clothing on social media saying the city shut down their emergency shelter when it was minus 32 or minus 41 with the wind chill. The warming shelter is needed to protect the city’s homeless. Thursday city officials responded by saying the city did not close the warming centre but instead the Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship Society made the decision to transition clients to the Alpha House Shelter which has the necessary resources to support those who need them the most.
