Lethbridge Police lay drug trafficking charges on woman

Lethbridge Police have charged a 39-year-old woman with drug trafficking offences after they discovered drug paraphernalia at a tent, located in an encampment.

Police approached a woman on January 1st that was known to have outstanding warrants. They approached a tent at an encampment on 7 Street North where drug paraphernalia was observed outside.

Upon announcing their arrival, the resulting search of the tent revealed approximately 340 doses of fentanyl, 370 doses of methamphetamine numerous pills, crack cocaine, drug packaging, scales and other paraphernalia, along with more than $7,700 in cash. A number of weapons were also seized, including a hatchet, knife and two machetes. Police believe the subject was engaged in selling drugs to the at-risk population downtown.

39-year-old Andrea Rachel Weasel Fat of Lethbridge is facing numerous charges, including three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with an undertaking. She is currently in custody and is awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
