Lethbridge Moonlight Run prepping for 36th annual event
Runners in Lethbridge are ready to put their best foot forward for the upcoming 36th annual Moonlight Run taking place on Saturday at 8pm. The run starts at CASA in Downtown Lethbridge, loops into Indian Battle Park and then returns back to CASA.
Shawn Pinder, the race director for the run told us the group is thinking about raising funds for the event for either the Lethbridge Food Bank or the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen. There will also be some special cash prizes of up to $300 for the top winners.
“There is cash awards for the top three people in each of the 6K or 10K event, male and female. But then we also go kind of in roughly age groups of five year increments and right to fifth place in terms of medals. So there should be a good number of people out of the event that end up with an award on Saturday evening.”
All spots are filled for the event, and Pinder says they are expecting just over 2,000 participants for the run.
