Lethbridge farmer arrested allegedly for dispute over egg

A Lethbridge area farmer was arrested recently – allegedly for a dispute over egg production. His daughter, Lyndsay Van Essen, posted on Facebook, stating, “he was arrested because Alberta egg farmers don’t like the fact that he can sell inspected eggs to people without paying millions into their quota system.” BCN contacted the manager of public affairs with Egg Farmers of Alberta or EFA, David Webb, who shares more details on the situation for us – saying that Mr. Van Essen was not arrested – directly for egg production.

BCN also reached out to Lyndsay Van Essen – but we were not yet able to receive a reply.
