Language centre sets up shop in Lethbridge

A new Lethbridge language and referral centre opened on June 10th that will provide services free of charge for new immigrants. Clients will be helped with language assessment, making referrals for English classes, and providing support for education classes. The centre in Lethbridge has been fully booked for the past few weeks.

Hanne Brahim, the Team Manager of Language Assessment and Referral Centre for Immigrant Services Calgary, says there has been a lot of work behind the scenes to get the new centre up and running, “We are really excited that we are open, and we’ve been fully booked the past couple of weeks. We can tell that people have been waiting for this service to be available.”

All permanent residents, conventional refugees, and naturalized citizens can access the english assessment services.

“We’re here to guide you through your process, and refer you to the appropriate school that will be providing services to you. We do everything from referrals, to full or part-time English classes, and educational counselling for free,” adds Brahim.

You can call 403-262-2656 for more information on the new centre.
