Inductee’s announced for the 2023 Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame
The Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame has announced six new inductee’s for this year’s class. They include two athletes, two builders, one team, and one special award. Everyone who will be inducted during an upcoming ceremony have contributed to the athletic history in Lethbridge and will join past recipients.
“Forty-four years after the fact, it’s pretty exciting. I guess it’s a great honor to be selected to be a part of the Hall of Fame. I mean, I follow the sports scene here in Lethbridge, so for myself and my team members, it’s pretty exciting. It also gives us an opportunity to reconnect after 44 years, to phone up somebody and to mention we’re being inducted is pretty exciting.”
Paul Kingsmith with the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame says it’s important to recognize all the athletes in these types of ceremonies because they play such a vital role in our sport community.
“For the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame every year we sit back and evaluate nominations that have come in for people that have been nominated to be in the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame. What surprises me every single year is the quality of individuals that we get. Every year, you think, maybe we can’t top that and then you get another class of people who have done amazing things to represent Lethbridge and build sport in the city.”
The induction ceremony will take place on May 5th. Tickets can be purchased through the ENMAX Centre.
