Indian National Finals Rodeo stops in Lethbridge
For the first time, Lethbridge will play host to some of the best Indigenous Rodeo athletes in North America this weekend.
The Indian National Finals Rodeo will stop by the Rocky Mountain Turf Club on Friday and Saturday for qualifiers ahead of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in October.
Known as the Sikohkotoki INFR Reconciliation Qualifier Rodeo, almost 600 entries have been admitted in various events such as the morning slack competitions that include roping, rough stock and tie down; and the evening rodeo and Indian Relay Races each day.
This will be the first time Lethbridge will host an I-N-F-R qualifying event in its 46-year history. The city is also talking about hosting the event next year.
