In their memory, Lethbridge ceremony honors fallen first responders
Today marks 24 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001, when terrorist attacks struck the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.
Thousands of civilians, along with hundreds of firefighters and other first responders, lost their lives that day.
In Lethbridge, a special ceremony was held to honor fallen heroes, those who died in the line of duty or from occupational illnesses and injuries, all of whom made the ultimate sacrifice.
Today, during the solemn ceremony, the bells rang as each of the 152 fallen heroes’ names from across North America were read aloud, recognizing their bravery and service.
