History of the American Hotel on display at the Galt Museum

Chances are if you have driven through Fort Macleod you will have seen the iconic American Hotel. It’s been closed for many years now but was apparently quite the hotspot for police surveillance during its time. As BCN’s Micah Quinn explains, the Galt Museum and Archives has now opened a new exhibit in honour of the historical landmark called Contact Zone: The American Hotel. Fort Macleod residents also remember it for its so-called hauntings.
