Green Acres Foundation celebrates southern Alberta Seniors

Green Acres Foundation invited members of all their southern Alberta locations on Thursday to a celebration that commemorated Seniors Week.

A barbeque with live music performances and games was held at Green Acres downtown Lethbridge home, and there was even a watermelon eating contest with Mayor Blane Hyggen participating. Green Acres representatives say they find importance in hosting these events to honour seniors in the area, and to honour them year-round.

About 1,000 seniors are served throughout 20 homes in Lethbridge and other southern Alberta municipalities.
