Green Acres Foundation celebrated the Senior’s Week, as each year, the first week of June is dedicated to celebrating one of Alberta’s greatest treasures – our senior citizens. With soup, BBQ and music seniors from its nine communities gathered for a fun day. During the party a friendly soup competition in which the winning soup will be featured on their Fall/Winter menu was also held. Dawna Coslovi, Chief Executive Officer with Green Acres Foundation, explains how the idea of creating a competition between nine types of soups came about.
Judges for the competition included Mayor Blaine Hyggen, Deputy Fire Chief Wes Borland, and residents representing their senior community.
