The Renewal & Healing Centre has secured funding to launch Indigenous-led recovery outreach and traditional healing camps in Lethbridge and Kainai First Nation. The 271 thousand dollars funding will be used to bring together local organizations to support addiction recovery, connect vulnerable Indigenous people with culturally based healing programs, and advance truth and reconciliation efforts.
Alvin Mill, board director of the Indigenous organization, says the investment is being provided through the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund.
The project will provide safety and encouragement for individuals as they their recovery journeys.
