Free Potato Friday at the Lethbridge Food Bank

The Lethbridge Food Bank has been blessed recently with an abundance of donations from local potato producers.

In fact, the Food Bank has received around 13-thousand pounds of spuds, which is more than they can use. As a result, they are holding a Free Potato Friday event August 2 between 1:30 and 3:30 pm where anyone can stop by for a free box or bag.

Food Bank Program Lead Emily Beilby says the event is an opportunity to give back to the community.

People are asked to drive up to the east side of the Food Bank to pick up their potatoes. No donations are required to receive the free potatoes, but any donations you might want to make to the Food Bank are appreciated.
