Fire safety during the holiday season

We’ve been blessed with higher than normal temperatures here in southern Alberta. But eventually the weather outside will get frightful as we near the Christmas season. If you’re looking to purchase a fireplace this year, it is recommended to get it professionally installed. That is according Troy Hicks. He is a Fire Prevention Officer with Lethbridge Fire and EMS.  Over the weekend, crews from four fire stations responded to a structure fire on Westside Drive. The cause of the fire was due to a homemade self-installed wood burning fireplace.
