This is Fire Prevention Week — a time when the community is encouraged to get involved and take action to reduce fire risks at home. To share important safety information, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES), is visiting local communities throughout the week.
Today, they visited the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre, where residents received fire safety tips directly from professionals as part of the Charge into Fire Safety 2025 campaign, which highlights three key steps: Buy certified products, charge devices safely, and recycle batteries responsibly.
Troy Hicks, Chief Fire Marshal with LFES, was on-site educating the community about the importance of properly buying, using and disposal batteries to help prevent fires.
