Fire ban in effect for Lethbridge River Valley and County
A fire ban is now in effect across the City of Lethbridge’s River Valley and in Lethbridge County. Officials are responding to elevated wildfire risk driven by warm temperatures, dry conditions, and low humidity.
City authorities are urging residents and visitors to exercise heightened caution, avoid all open flames, and properly extinguish smoking materials, as even minor sparks can quickly ignite dry grass and brush in the area.
The restriction, which remains in place until further notice, is part of routine seasonal wildfire prevention measures intended to reduce the risk of fast-spreading fires in one of the city’s most environmentally sensitive and heavily used natural spaces.
