Earlier this week, two westside residential fires were reported by Lethbridge Police Service. The community was informed that the fires remain under investigation. The blazes happened Tuesday just after 2:30 a.m. on Kensington Road West in the Garry Station neighbourhood. But beyond the flames, there is a deeper story. One of the four families affected, and who escaped with only the clothes on their backs, met with Bridge City News and shared how they are coping three days after losing everything—except their lives.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family, with a goal of raising $40,000 to help them rebuild.
