Elder abuse awareness and prevention

Canada’s population continues to age, and we are seeing an increase in the number of seniors across our country.  They bring a wealth of wisdom and experience that we can benefit from, but seniors can also be vulnerable to abuse.  What is elder abuse – how often does it happen, and what can be done to prevent it?   Marissa Hardy is the Lethbridge Elder Abuse Response Network (LEARN) case manager with the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization. She sat down with BCN’s Naveen Day to shed some light on elder abuse.
