Slowing down when we drive in certain areas not only prevents tickets but ensures public safety. It is normal to take such precautions in school and playground zones, parks, hospitals and residential areas. It appears, however, that certain drivers are not getting the message when it comes to construction zones. Lethbridge County Director of Operations, Ryan Thomson, says they are concerned that workers’ lives are in danger due to drivers who constantly speed in construction zones. Thomson adds the motorists have even moved barricades to drive on closed roads, including some roads that have been excavated.
