Donations needed for Christmas dinner event
The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association is offering up some Christmas cheer this holiday season. The group is putting on their 23rd annual Complimentary Community Christmas Dinner. It is for those in our community who are facing hardships. Last year, over 250 residents picked up a meal. The Executive Director of the association, Jackie French, says the need is even greater this year due to the pandemic. She says many families have suffered huge financial losses or even jobs during the past year. French says the association needs 15 turkeys and 12 hams to be able to complete their Community Christmas dinner.
Additionally this year if any people or families do not have transportation to pick up the meal or meals you can call in to register for delivery. The association has several volunteers lined up to deliver meals for those in need that do not have transportation. You can call the office to register for the meals to be delivered 403-320-1577 or email info@saea.ca.
If you’d like to donate to the event let the association know by December 1st.
The Community Christmas Dinner will be held on December 12th from 3 to 5 p.m. and the food can be picked up at the Multicultural Centre in Lethbridge.
