Donating Cell phones to assist victims of violence
Technology has long served as a safety measure. A cell phone, for example, can get you out of a bind during an emergency. That’s why Lethbridge Family Services and other charities are continuing, for the second year in a row, with the Cell Phones for Safety campaign. The initiative aims to collect, through donations, cell phones and distribute them to victims of abuse and domestic violence. The Community Domestic Violence Response Lead with LFS, Christa Sanford, discusses more about this campaign. Sanford says last year the campaign collected 300 devices and distributed them to victims of domestic violence.
