CTF warns Albertans about debt After 2026‑27 budget

The Alberta 2026-27 budget was announced on Wednesday. The Canadian Taxpayers Federation or CTF reacted by warning Albertans about what it calls a “dangerous debt spiral” in the wake of the budget. Kris Sims CTF Alberta Director, says interest payments on the provincial debt will cost Albertans 3.4 billion dollars this year — about 280 million dollars per month. She says the government is also borrowing billions of dollars this year.
