Coaldale Cobras hosting U18C Hockey Provincial Championship

As minor hockey season is wrapping up across the country, Coaldale is playing host to the U18C Hockey Alberta Provincial Championship this weekend.

Eight teams including the hometown U18 Coaldale Cobras will take to the ice over the next four days to compete for the Tier-3 provincial banner. This is the first time since 2013 that Coaldale is hosting a Hockey Alberta Provincial Championship.

The Cobras, who made their journey here by capturing two banners in the Central Alberta Hockey League, say playing at home will help carry their momentum throughout the tournament.

Each of the eight teams will play three round robin games before the playoff and championship games take place on Sunday at the Coaldale Sportsplex.
