The Streets Alive Mission has put out an urgent call for clothing donations.
The Mission’s People In Need or P.I.N. Bank makes a wide variety of clothing available to those in need. Currently the bank is low on a number of items including hats, shorts, tank tops, hoodies and especially new underwear.
The Mission’s Chief Development Officer, Jennifer Lepko says the PIN Bank fulfills a huge need with 40 to 60 people per day accessing clothing. And, she says, the bank typically distributes around 100 pairs of underwear each week.
Streets Alive Mission accepts donations of all clothing, but seasonal items are especially important. Cash donations are also accepted and are typically used to purchase new underwear. Donations can be dropped off at the Streets Alive Mission downtown on fourth street or at the RePurpose Donation Centre at 219 12th B Street North.
