Everything is ready to celebrate the 2024 Blackfoot Winter Solstice. This is a major event for Blackfoot people as they acknowledge and respect the coming home of the sun. The community is invited to attend this Saturday, at the Cavendish Farms Centre, on the Westside of Lethbridge. Jennie Sudo, Partnership Strategist for the Recreation & Culture Department at the City of Lethbridge, talks about why Winter Solstice, or the shortest day of the year, is important. The event will start at 10:00 am on Saturday and will include traditional Blackfoot games, drum & dance along with a free public skate.
