Members of the Lethbridge Police Service took to the city’s Economic and Finance Committee to present the dollar figures to introduce body cams to all available officers.

It was recommended that council approve $550,000 in 2025 and $914,000 in 2026 and would be funded by the Municipal Revenue Stabilization Reserve.

The province announced in 2023 that it would require all police officers to wear body cameras by 2026, in order to increase transparency and accountability.
