Mental Health is a priority in the lives of our first responders. To help others, they need to be healthy first. That is why Alberta’s government budget 2025 is investing 1.5 million dollars annually to support the mental health of first responders who live with or at risk for post-traumatic stress injuries. Here, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services Wellness Support Specialist, Shelly Kruger, also works in pro of their mental health. Kruger says what the main danger, trauma and crisis our first responders usually face.

Alberta government also says this funding ensures Alberta’s police and peace officers, correctional workers, paramedics and firefighters (including wildland firefighters) get the help they need.
