The long-awaited break at the gas pump is now in effect across Alberta. As of Thursday, October 1, the province paused its fuel tax, bringing gasoline prices down by about 13 cents per litre and giving drivers some relief every time they fill up.
The tax pause is expected to remain in place while gasoline prices stay below the provincial threshold.
There is more help available for Albertans who have not yet applied for the $100 Energy Rebate. The rebate was launched this summer, with applications available since July 1. The deadline has now been extended to October 31, giving eligible residents an extra month to apply.
