Debate over permanent Daylight-Saving Time leads SACPA discussion

There has been considerable controversy surrounding the proposal for Alberta to eliminate the time change and remain on Daylight Saving Time year-round. The bill introduced by the government of Danielle Smith proposes making the change permanent. For many, however, the preferred option would be to adopt Standard Time year-round.

As the legislation is reviewed, community members and subject-matter experts continue to examine the issue and share their perspectives. Today, at the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs, the topic of discussion was whether permanent Daylight-Saving Time is right for Alberta.
