Online child sexual exploitation on the rise
Although many of us warn our children to avoid becoming victims of online child sexual exploitation and abuse sadly, according to Stats Canada, many still fall victim to predators. Corporal Heather Bangle who works with the Internet Child Exploitation unit at ALERT explains what factors are influencing the continued growth of these heinous crimes. According to Stats Canada, more than 68 per cent of child pornography incidents involved making or distributing child porn and about 32 per cent of the cases involved possessing or accessing child pornography.
